How long will my Fresh Press last? Can I use it past its Best Before Date?Updated 3 hours ago
Our Fresh Presses have a naturally high sugar content, which helps them stay fresh for quite some time. You can safely brew with a Fresh Press that is up to 3 months past its Best Before Date without any issues.
For the best results, we don’t recommend using a Fresh Press more than 3 months beyond its Best Before Date, as flavour and quality may start to decline.
However, the yeast is different. Brewing Yeast can lose viability once it passes the individual Best Before Date printed on the sachet. If it’s out of date, it may not activate properly, which can lead to a failed or incomplete brew.
The key thing to remember is: as long as the yeast is still within date and the Fresh Press is not more than 3 months past its Best Before Date, your brew should work perfectly - so always check both before starting.
You can purchase a replacement Brewing Yeast from the website here - just make sure you check which Yeast you need for the style you're brewing.
