What is the IBU of our Beers?Updated a day ago
At Pinter, we’re all about the Fresh Beer experience, and we believe a single number like IBU doesn’t tell the whole story of how a pint actually tastes.
Here’s why we leave it off the label:
- Taste over Tech: A 40 IBU Stout tastes sweet, while a 40 IBU Lager tastes bitter. We use Taste Tags (like 'Crisp' or 'Hoppy') because they’re a more honest way to tell you what’s in your glass.
- Precision Engineering: Our Fresh Press is expertly balanced in our facility. Because we’ve already locked in the bitterness using high-quality extracts, the traditional ‘brewing math’ for IBUs doesn't really apply to our process.
- The 'Your Water' Factor: Since you add your own tap water at home, the mineral content can change how bitter the beer feels on your tongue. We’d rather give you a reliable flavour profile than a number that might shift depending on your kitchen sink.
- Keeping it Simple: We want to strip away the jargon. You don’t need a chemistry degree to enjoy a world-class pint, just a Pinter and a thirst for great beer.
